Requirement

To access LONI clusters, one needs a LONI user account. A person is eligible for a LONI user account if they satisfy one of the following criteria:

  • A faculty or research staff member from one of the LONI's member institutions.
  • A student working with a faculty or research staff member from one of the LONI's member institutions.
  • A researcher who collaborates with a faculty or research staff member from one of the LONI's member institutions.

Applying for a LONI Account

Currently, the procedure entails filling out the LONI account request form.

The form requires a valid email address, which needs to be associated to a LONI institution for authentication purpose. The likes of Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail will not be accepted.

After you click on the "submit" button, an email will be sent to the email address with a link to the real application form. Please fill as many fields as possible so we can have a better idea who you are. In the field of education affiliation, please provide the name of a faculty or research staff member from a LONI institution, who can be your supervisor, adviser and collaborator. If you are a faculty or research staff member yourself, just type in your own name.

When receiving your application form, the LONI staff will verify the affiliation with the member institution or primary collaborator. After a user is verified, a LONI administrator will enable access for the account to the various LONI systems, and the new user will be notified. This verification process is typically done within three days, but could take longer if the collaborator does not respond promptly. It should also be noted that, although a user account is created as soon as the application form is submitted, the access to the clusters is only granted after you receive the email stating that your account has been activated.
